The recording of the album has begun!

On August 17th we packed our car with gear and drove to the studio to record the drums for our upcoming debut-album. We spent that friday pretty much in the car and setting up the sessions. The drums in the studio got new batterheads and the drums got tuned. After setting up the drum-kit we started miking the thing. We used some standard mics and then some pretty exotic ones as well. On Saturday we got to tracking. The start was a bit slow, but after Patrik got his groove on, things started rolling in a ridiculous pace. Sunday was efficient - 7 songs! After lots of sweat, 10 broken drumsticks and 3,5 days of recording we had the drums to 16 songs on the hard-drive. Here's a pic of a consentrated beater.

Some of the songs didn't change that much from the live-versions, but there are a couple cool new things that spices it all up. So once again we loaded the car and started the 3,5-hour drive back to Turku. The recording of the drums went apparently a bit too nicely, so about halfway through the drive our oh-so-reliable car decided to break down. After a couple of hours of starting to figure it out we decided to try again but that was a mistake! That resulted to us chilling on the side of the freeway and waiting for someone to pick us up.

Juuso's father was the knight in a shining Honda and came to the rescue the three stranded ones.
So now we're home, and we'll continue with the bass and guitars shortly. Stay tuned!
